Growing up in a family of six in Kasidol (near Požarevac), she discovered music through her grandfather and learned her first song at age five. Her talent was spotted at local competitions, leading to a contract with Diskos and her debut album, Imam dečka nemirnog, which sold 160,000 copies. She achieved massive popularity in the 1980s as part of the Južni Vetar group, touring extensively across Yugoslavia. Her 1989 album Simpatija was the best-selling of her career (approx. 450,000 copies). During this period, she released numerous evergreen hits such as "Spasi me samoće" and "Kad bi znao kako čeznem." She left the group in 1991. "The Serbian Madonna" In the 1990s, her fame skyrocketed. Known for her elaborated stage choreography, she earned the nickname "The Serbian Madonna." She held her largest concert at the Levski Stadium in Bulgaria in front of 55,000 people. She married Toni Bijelić and moved to Vienna, Austria, taking a break from the public eye in 1999 to focus on her family (son Marko and daughter Manuela).
