About Halid Beslic
Halid Bešlić (Knežina, Sokolac; November 20, 1953 – Sarajevo, October 7, 2025) was a Bosnian folk music singer. He began practicing music and singing as an amateur while in elementary school, participating in various cultural and artistic societies, spending the longest time with KUD “Zijo Dizdarević.” This continued until he completed his military service in the Yugoslav People’s Army (JNA). After returning from the army, he pursued his music career more actively through performances in well-known restaurants in Sarajevo and elsewhere, which lasted about 5–6 years. He recorded his first single in 1979, marking the beginning of his rise to success and popularity on the Yugoslav music scene. From 1979 to 2023, he released 19 studio albums and two live albums. During the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina (1992–1995), he held over 500 humanitarian concerts across Western Europe.
