About Javier Solís

Gabriel Siria Levario (1931–1966), better known as Javier Solís, was a legendary Mexican singer and actor celebrated for pioneering the bolero-ranchera style. Born into poverty and raising himself through various menial jobs—including stints as a butcher and amateur boxer—his vocal talent was eventually discovered, leading to a contract with CBS Records in 1950. Solís achieved international fame with hits such as "Sombras," "Payaso," and "En Mi Viejo San Juan," and starred in over 20 films beginning in 1959. Alongside Jorge Negrete and Pedro Infante, he was revered as one of the "Three Mexican Roosters" of Mexican music and cinema. Solís died unexpectedly in Mexico City at the age of 34 due to complications from gallbladder surgery.
