About Luigi Gori

Luigi Gori is not just a music producer — he’s a storyteller of sound, a craftsman of emotion, and a restless explorer of rhythm. His journey began in 1989, long before electronic music became a global force. Armed with a Roland MC-500 MkII, a Casio FZ-1 sampler, and a Vestax 4-track recorder, Luigi dove headfirst into the world of sequencing, sampling, and sonic experimentation. It was the beginning of a lifelong obsession. In 1993, he released his debut track “Cronic Apocalipse” on Zac Music, marking his first step into the underground scene. In 1997, he introduced the alias Presslaboys, under which he single-handedly produced all material — quickly gaining recognition for his unconventional and genre-blending sound. Luigi’s sonic identity draws from a rich palette: 80s electro, Acid House, early progressive, old-school beats, and the unmistakable warmth of Italian house. Throughout the 2000s, he built a solid reputation with releases on respected labels such as Crosstown Rebels, SAW Recordings, Baroque Records, Viva Music, Harthouse, Yellow Tail, Armada Music, and more — as well as remixes for renowned names in the global electronic community. He performed at major clubs and festivals around the globe — from Tokyo to São Paulo, from Kyiv to London — earning the support of some of the most influential DJs in the world. Many of his early productions still sound fresh today thanks to his vision and timeless approach. After 2008, Luigi became involved with the Melodika collective, curating forward-thinking events while continuing to release music as Presslaboys, including work for 19 Box Recordings, Regular, and tracks featuring the voice of Lisa Shaw. In 2012, Luigi began producing under his own name, exploring deeper, more organic shades of house and Afro-influenced soundscapes. His creative partnership with Anis Hachemi has led to notable releases on Tortuga Tribe, Capital Heaven, Trax Records, Timeless Moment, Global Underground, and Photonic Music. Most recently, Luigi co-founded the Afro House label Bambatha Music together with Larsun Hesh. But their collaboration didn’t stop there. Beyond the label, Luigi and Larsun have formed a close artistic alliance — and through this powerful partnership, they’ve delivered a series of impactful releases on leading imprints such as Dear Deer, Harthouse, Great Stuff, and Photonic Music. Their combined vision continues to push boundaries, blending emotional depth, rhythmic sophistication, and unmistakable character. For Luigi Gori, music is not just what he does — it’s who he is. A career built on evolution, collaboration, and a relentless passion for the future of sound.
