Marija Šerifović (Serbian: Марија Шерифовић; born November 14, 1984, in Kragujevac) is a Serbian pop singer. She represented Serbia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 with the song "Molitva" (Prayer), with which she won the competition. Marija's mother is Verica Šerifović, a folk music singer. Marija completed high school and primary music school in her hometown of Kragujevac. After finishing high school, she moved to Belgrade. She recorded her first album, Naj, najbolja (The Very Best), in 2003. She has performed at festivals multiple times: Budva Festival 2003: "Gorka čokolada" (Bitter Chocolate) Budva Festival 2004: "Bol do ludila" (Pain to the Point of Madness) – 1st place Beovizija 2005: "Ponuda" (Offer) – 7th place Radio Festival 2005: "U nedelju" (On Sunday) – 1st place Vrnjačka Banja Festival 2006: "Dugo" (Long Time) – Award for Best Interpretation Beovizija 2007: "Molitva" – 1st place In 2006, she released her second album, Bez ljubavi (Without Love). She records for City Records. At Beovizija 2007, she won with the song "Molitva" (music by Vladimir Graić, lyrics by Saša Milošević Mare), receiving 12 points from the telephone vote and 10 from the jury.
