About Natasa Bekvalac

Nataša Bekvalac (born September 25, 1980) is a prominent Serbian pop singer, often referred to by the nickname "The Barbie of Novi Sad" (Novosadska barbika). With a career spanning over two decades, she is considered one of the most successful pop artists in the region. Born in Novi Sad, Serbia (then SFR Yugoslavia), she is the daughter of football coach Dragoljub Bekvalac and his wife Mira. She grew up as the middle child with two sisters, Dragana and Kristina. Before launching her solo career, she graduated from a senior coaching school. Bekvalac made her professional debut in 2001 with the album Ne brini. Her career quickly gained momentum with a string of successful releases that solidified her status in the Balkan pop scene. Following her debut, she released successful albums including Ništa lično (2002), Stereo ljubav (2004), Ne valjam (2010), and Original (2016). Her most recent album, Mama, was released in 2025. Some of her most recognized tracks include "Mali signali," "Nikotin," "Ponovo," "Original," and "Mala plava". In 2020, she held her first major solo concert, "S.O.S. za ljubav," at the Belgrade Arena, a career milestone that was documented in a live album. Beyond music, Bekvalac is a recognizable television personality. She has served as a judge on popular singing competitions such as Pinkove Zvezdice (2018–2019) and IDJ Show (2023–present). She is also known for her vocal support of the LGBT community in Serbia, earning her the title of a "gay icon" in 2019. Her private life has frequently been the subject of media attention. She has been married three times: to former water polo player Danilo Ikodinović (2006–2011), handball player Ljubomir Jovanović (2015–2017), and IT entrepreneur Luka Lazukić (2017–2019). She is a mother to two daughters, Hana (born 2007) and Katja (born 2018).
