About Sladja Allegro

Biography Slađana Dragaš, professionally known as Slađa Allegro, is a Serbian pop-folk singer born on June 29, 1979, in Belgrade (Obrenovac). Growing up in a musical family, she abandoned business school to pursue a music career. Her roots are in folklore dancing, which she practiced for 13 years and where she met the future members of her band. Musical Career Frenky (1999): Her professional career began when the founder of the pop-rock band Frenky discovered her singing in a restaurant. She spent two years with the group, recording the album Ovaj svet and the song "Ostani," which she marks as the beginning of her career. Allegro Band (2001–2016; Present): Slađa co-founded Allegro Band with friends from her folklore ensemble. They built their reputation performing in clubs across Belgrade before releasing their debut album Pesme o nama in 2005, which spawned the hit "Živim za to." Their popularity grew with subsequent albums and hits like "Imendan" and "Neka ide život," transitioning them from wedding performances to European club tours. Solo Projects: In 2016, she began a solo career (while retaining the "Allegro" name with the founder's permission), releasing singles like "Jelen" and "Afrika." In 2017, she released Projekat za plakanje, an album of traditional folk songs dedicated to her late father. She later reunited with the band. Personal Life Slađa has been married to economist Zoran Dragaš since January 2016. After struggling with miscarriages in 2015 and 2016, the couple welcomed a daughter in June 2018. She is close friends with fellow singers Seka Aleksić and Mia Borisavljević.
