About Zdravko Colic
Zdravko Čolić (born 1951 in Sarajevo) is widely considered the biggest pop star in the former Yugoslavia. Starting his career in the early 1970s, he quickly rose to fame with his powerful voice and charismatic stage presence. After representing Yugoslavia at Eurovision in 1973, he released a string of legendary albums in collaboration with composers Kornelije Kovač and Goran Bregović. Known as the "Yugoslav Tom Jones," Čolić sparked "Čola-mania" in the late 70s, selling millions of records and filling stadiums, most notably the Marakana in 1978. Despite a brief hiatus in the late 80s, he successfully reinvented himself in the 90s and 2000s. With a career spanning five decades, he remains an active and beloved performer, consistently selling out arenas across the Balkans and the world, proving his enduring status as a timeless music icon.
