I CHOOSE THE BLUES

The 37-year-old guitarist Leo Maier, who lives and creates in Brazil and has already released two EPs Jumpin with the Band (2015) and Guitar in my Hand (2016), brought out exclusively original material with his first complete album "I Choose The Blues", released in 2017. Leo draws on a variety of musical styles here, from swinging T-Bone Walker style to the driving sound of Texas blues to boogie and electric blues à la B.B. King. Supported by a solid and sympathetic band with Davyk Martins and Eduardo Martorano sharing the drums, Fernando Mueller or Emerson Mainhardt on bass, Junior Marques on keyboards and Helio Reichert, who features saxophone on five tracks. Cristiano Ferreira contributes guitar on three tracks, and two tracks are sung by Willian de Andrade and Willard Ribeiro. "I Choose The Blues" is an impressive long player worth discovering.
