Italy's Luciano Esse has been one of the key figures in the country's House and Techno scene for many years now: starting off as resident dj for "The Flame" crew, he then moved to London and went on to pursue a successful DJ career playing in some of the city's most famed and renowned clubs such as Turnmills, Egg, Ministry Of Sound and The End. British legend John Digweed hosted him on his Kiss 100 Radio Show, and soon after he started to play regularly at superclub Fabric. Ibiza was the next step, with gigs at Space's We Love Sundays, Pacha, Underground. His music has been released on acclaimed labels such as Safari Electronique, Material Series, Leftroom and Trapez Ltd. For this ambitious EP on Aloe, Luciano Esse teams up with Rashomon's Stefano Testa: the result is impressive and incredibly fresh. Title track "The Misunderstanding"'s bouncing bass line opens up to a wild pattern of dub synth shots, while a whirlwind of snares and upbeat percussions plays along creating a hypnotic and mesmerizing groove.
